Health and Safety Policy

We have always attached the greatest importance to the Safety and Health at work of all employees. We have an excellent record in this respect and it is our policy to do everything reasonably practical to prevent personal injury/accidents and to safeguard health. It follows that all employees must co-operate to eliminate known or suspected risks. Compliance with Health & Safety matters is of equal importance to other responsibilities.
All those in supervisory roles must support others and take the initiative in training, have regard to Safety and Health in the issue of their instructions and must themselves set a personal example of the standards the Company expects. Facility is available for Employer/Employee consultation on Health & Safety matters. Individual employees will be consulted before receiving specific Health & Safety responsibilities.

At all times the Company undertakes to provide the necessary financial provisions and resources for the implementation of, and clear commitment to, ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the company employees and others who may be affected by the activities of the company.  Resources will include the necessary plant, machinery, technical facilities, trained personnel and time to fulfill the Company’s obligations.

The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 places a special responsibility on all employees to take reasonable care of their own Safety and Health and of others who may be affected by their actions at work. This includes wearing suitable personal protective equipment (i.e. safety boots at all times) as well as making full use of the equipment provided by the Company, and never intentionally or recklessly interfering with or misusing anything provided in the interests of Health, Safety or Welfare. Regarding CDM, the Company fully accepts its responsibilities under CDM Regulations 1994 as Principal Contractor or Contractor.

Breaches of safety regulations will be treated as a disciplinary offence.
The Company Safety Policy Statement and General Guidance Notes have been prepared to outline the level of responsibility for safety of every person working within the Company and as a reminder of the general precautions which must always be taken on site. It details the company commitment to ensure the effective planning, control, monitoring and review of the protective measures in place and records thereof, to reflect changes in legislation and work practices.
Regulation notices on various aspects of safety are displayed on every site and should be carefully read. Each site is also equipped with a First Aid Box.

This Statement is issued to Clients, Sub-contractors and employees. It is reviewed, revised and up-dated continually in accordance with changes in legislation and work practices and comprehensively reviewed annually.
